Remembrance Tour - Bazeilles

At the Battle of Sedan on 1 September 1870, Bazeilles was the site of intense fighting between infantry units of the Troupes de Marines and Bavarian regiments. Under the command of Major Lambert and having withdrawn to the Bourgerie Inn, a few hundred men and officers resisted until all their ammunition ran out.
