Remembrance Tours – Sedan, intramural

During the three Franco-German wars, the battles almost always took place on the outskirts of Sedan, outside the city walls, and only reached the city on two occasions - 25 and 26 August 1914, through street fighting and without any major damage, and a second tragic time in May-June 1940, through bombings and fires which destroyed one third of the historic centre.

The "Circuits de mémoire" guidebook is available at the Sedan Tourist Office. There are 5 routes around the battlefields of 1870, 1914-1918 and 1939-1945.
